Moti Special

Moti Special

80s German Synth-Pop Band

Moti Special was a German new wave band, active primarily in the 1980s. The band was formed in 1981 by Danish guitar player Nils Tuxen, Romanian keyboardist Michael Cretu, bassist Manfred "Thissy" Thiers, and British singer and drummer Moti Special. They are best known for their 1985 hit single "Cold Days, Hot Nights," which was a success in several European countries. Their debut album, "Motivation," released the same year, included this hit and helped to cement their place in the European music scene. Despite their initial success, Moti Special disbanded in 1987 after releasing just one more single. Michael Cretu went on to achieve significant fame as the creator of the Enigma project in the early 1990s. The band briefly reunited in the early 2000s with a different lineup, but they did not recapture their mid-80s popularity.
