Georg Friedrich Händel, also known as George Frideric Handel, was a Baroque-era composer born in Halle, Germany, in 1685. He spent the bulk of his career in England where he became a naturalized British subject. Handel is renowned for his operas, oratorios, anthems, and organ concertos. Among his most famous works are the "Messiah," an oratorio that includes the well-known "Hallelujah" chorus, "Water Music," and "Music for the Royal Fireworks."
