France Gall

France Gall

Iconic French yé-yé and pop singer

France Gall was a popular French yé-yé singer who rose to fame in the 1960s. Her career began at a young age, and she quickly became known for her clear, girlish voice and catchy pop songs. Gall gained international acclaim when she won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1965 with the song "Poupée de cire, poupée de son," written by the famous French songwriter Serge Gainsbourg. Throughout her career, she worked with various influential composers and lyricists, including Gainsbourg and Michel Berger, who later became her husband.
