Double Exposure

Double Exposure

Disco and Soul Music Group from the 70s

Double Exposure is an American disco and soul group, most notable for their hit single "Ten Percent," which was released in 1976. The group originated from Philadelphia and consisted of members James Williams, Joseph Harris, Charles Whittington, and Leonard "Butch" Davis. They were one of the first acts signed to Salsoul Records, a label that became synonymous with the disco genre. "Ten Percent" holds historical significance as it was the first commercial 12-inch single ever released. The song was a success on the dance charts and helped to establish the popularity of the extended format in dance music. Double Exposure continued to produce music throughout the late 1970s but never replicated the success of their initial hit. Despite this, they remain an integral part of the disco era's musical tapestry.
