60s Boogie Rock Pioneers

Canned Heat is an American blues and boogie rock band that was formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1965. The group was founded by Alan Wilson and Bob Hite, who bonded over their mutual love for blues music. Canned Heat became known for their energetic live performances and their revival of older blues standards, as well as their own original compositions. They gained international fame after their appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and later at Woodstock in 1969, which solidified their place in the counterculture movement of the 1960s.
