Bruno Nicolai

Bruno Nicolai

Italian Film Composer and Conductor

Bruno Nicolai was an Italian composer and conductor who became prominent in the world of film music during the 1960s and 1970s. Born on May 20, 1926, in Rome, Nicolai was a classically trained musician who studied piano and composition at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in his hometown. He is perhaps best known for his collaborations with the legendary composer Ennio Morricone, with whom he worked closely on numerous spaghetti western soundtracks. Nicolai's own compositions often graced the films of the giallo genre—Italian thrillers known for their blend of mystery and horror elements.
