Titus Andronicus

Titus Andronicus

New Jersey Punk Rock Band

Titus Andronicus is an American punk/indie rock band formed in Glen Rock, New Jersey, in 2005. The group is known for their energetic sound and incorporation of various styles such as punk rock, indie rock, and lo-fi. The band's name is taken from the Shakespearean tragedy of the same title. They gained critical acclaim with their second album, "The Monitor" (2010), which is a concept album with themes loosely based on the American Civil War. The band's lineup has seen changes over the years, with singer-songwriter Patrick Stickles being the mainstay and creative force behind their work. Titus Andronicus has been praised for their ambitious concepts and lyrical depth, particularly with the release of their rock opera "The Most Lamentable Tragedy" in 2015. This album is a sprawling work that explores themes of mental illness and personal struggle. In 2018, they released "A Productive Cough," which marked a departure from their previous high-energy punk sound to a more stripped-down and reflective style. Throughout their career, Titus Andronicus has maintained a reputation for passionate performances and a dedicated fan base.
