Theatre Of Hate

Theatre Of Hate

British post-punk band

Theatre of Hate is a British post-punk band that formed in 1980. Spearheaded by singer-songwriter Kirk Brandon, the band's music is characterized by its tribal drumming, haunting saxophone lines, and angular guitar riffs. They quickly made a name for themselves within the post-punk scene with their debut album "Westworld" released in 1982, which was produced by Mick Jones of The Clash. The album featured the single "Do You Believe in the Westworld?", which became one of their most recognized songs and a staple of their live performances. Despite their initial success and a strong following, Theatre of Hate disbanded in 1983, but they have had various reunions over the years and have released live recordings, including "Live Theatre Of Hate". Kirk Brandon has remained an influential figure in the post-punk genre and has also been involved with other bands such as Spear of Destiny.
