The Seekers

The Seekers

Australian folk-influenced pop quartet

The Seekers are an Australian folk-influenced pop quartet, originally formed in Melbourne in 1962. The group achieved considerable success in the 1960s with a style that blended folk, pop, and traditional music, and they are particularly known for their distinctive harmonies. The original lineup consisted of Athol Guy on double bass, Keith Potger on twelve-string guitar, Bruce Woodley on guitar, and Judith Durham as the lead vocalist. They gained international acclaim with hits like "I'll Never Find Another You," "A World of Our Own," "The Carnival is Over," and "Georgy Girl," the latter becoming the title song for a popular film of the same name.
