The Marshall Tucker Band

Southern Rock Pioneers

The Marshall Tucker Band is an American rock band hailing from Spartanburg, South Carolina. Formed in 1972, the band blended rock, country, and jazz influences to create a distinctive Southern rock sound that resonated with audiences throughout the 1970s and beyond. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Toy Caldwell, guitarist George McCorkle, bassist Tommy Caldwell, keyboardist and saxophonist Jerry Eubanks, drummer Paul Riddle, and flautist Doug Gray. They achieved considerable success with their self-titled debut album "The Marshall Tucker Band" in 1973, which included hits such as "Can't You See" and "Take the Highway."
