The Knickerbockers

The Knickerbockers

1960s American Pop-Rock Band

The Knickerbockers were an American rock band, best known for their hit single "Lies," which sounded remarkably similar to The Beatles and reached number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1965. Formed in Bergenfield, New Jersey, the group consisted of brothers Beau Charles (guitar and vocals) and John Charles (bass and vocals), Buddy Randell (vocals and saxophone), and Jimmy Walker (drums). They were part of the mid-1960s garage rock scene and are often remembered for their Beatlesque sound, particularly on "Lies."
