The Bach Choir of Bethlehem, founded in 1898, is one of the oldest American choirs and has a distinguished history of choral performance. Based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, the choir is known for its annual performances of Johann Sebastian Bach's works, particularly the Mass in B Minor and the Christmas Oratorio. Under the direction of Greg Funfgeld from 1983 to 2021, the choir has gained a reputation for its authentic and spirited interpretations of Baroque music. The ensemble consists of professional musicians and dedicated amateurs, and it has contributed significantly to the cultural life of the Lehigh Valley. The Bach Choir of Bethlehem has toured internationally and has made several recordings that showcase their expertise in performing Bach's compositions as well as other classical works.
