Scott Fagan

Scott Fagan

Cult Classic Singer-Songwriter from the Virgin Islands

Scott Fagan is a singer-songwriter whose career spans several decades, with his most notable work emerging in the late 1960s. Born in New York City in 1945 and raised in the Virgin Islands, Fagan's music is often characterized by its blend of folk, rock, and Caribbean influences. His album "South Atlantic Blues," released in 1968, is a cult classic that has been praised for its poetic lyrics and innovative sound. The album was reissued in 2015, bringing renewed attention to Fagan's work. Despite not achieving widespread commercial success, Scott Fagan has been recognized for his influence on other musicians and his contributions to the music scene, particularly in the realm of folk-rock. He is also the father of singer-songwriter Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields.
