Robert McDuffie

American Violin Virtuoso

Robert McDuffie is a renowned American violinist celebrated for his virtuosic technique and passionate performances. Born in 1958, he began his violin studies at an early age and attended the Juilliard School, where he was a pupil of the esteemed violin pedagogue Dorothy DeLay. McDuffie enjoys a dynamic career as a soloist, playing with major orchestras around the world under the baton of leading conductors. He has also been a champion of contemporary music, often collaborating with living composers to expand the repertoire for the violin. His discography includes recordings of violin concertos by Mendelssohn, Bruch, Barber, and Corigliano, among others. McDuffie's dedication to music extends beyond performance; he is also the founder of the Rome Chamber Music Festival in Italy and serves as a distinguished professor at Mercer University's Townsend School of Music in his native Georgia.
