Red Krayola

Red Krayola

Experimental Rock Pioneers

The Red Krayola, initially formed in 1966 in Houston, Texas, is an avant-garde rock band led by singer-guitarist and primary songwriter Mayo Thompson. The band's early work was part of the late 1960s psychedelic scene, and their debut album "The Parable of Arable Land" featured a unique blend of experimental rock with free-form noise dubbed "free rock". Over the years, The Red Krayola's lineup has seen numerous changes, with Thompson being the consistent member throughout its various incarnations.
