Ray Conniff And His Orchestra & Chorus

Ray Conniff And His Orchestra & Chorus

American Big Band Leader and Arranger

Ray Conniff was an American bandleader, arranger, and composer known for his unique sound in easy listening music, particularly during the 1950s and 1960s. His orchestra and chorus were famous for blending instrumental and vocal arrangements in a way that became synonymous with the Ray Conniff style. Born on November 6, 1916, in Attleboro, Massachusetts, Conniff started his music career in the swing era as a trombone player and arranger for big bands led by Bunny Berigan, Artie Shaw, and others.
