American jazz alto saxophonist Born 6 April 1943 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Died 3 September 2010 in Southern France He raised in New Orleans. In California he played Free Jazz with Dewey Redman and Sonny Simmons. 1965 he moved to New York City and worked with Archie Shepp. In October 1966 he recorded his first album. After workng with Albert Ayler he moved with Frank Wright to Europe and played with Bobby Few, Jack Gregg, Wilber Morris, Kali Fasteau, Muhammad Ali as well as French musicians like François Tusques and Boulou Ferré. Frequenly he worked with Eve Packer.
