Martin Böttcher

German Film Composer and Conductor

Martin Böttcher (1927–2019) was a renowned German composer, arranger, and conductor, best known for his work in film and television music. His career spanned several decades, during which he composed music for more than 50 films and numerous television series. Böttcher gained significant recognition for his contributions to the soundtracks of the Karl May movies in the 1960s, which were based on the adventure novels by the German writer Karl May. These films, often set in the American Wild West or the Orient, were very popular in Germany and helped to cement Böttcher's reputation as a composer.
