Liars Academy

Liars Academy

Post-Hardcore Band

Liars Academy was a rock band formed in Baltimore, Maryland, in 2000. The group was known for its post-hardcore and emo influences and consisted of members Ryan Shelkett (vocals/guitar), Chris Camden (guitar), Matt Smith (bass guitar), and Evan Tanner (drums). They were signed to Equal Vision Records, a label well-known for its roster of punk and hardcore bands. Liars Academy released their debut album "No News Is Good News" in 2001, which showcased their melodic approach to the post-hardcore genre. The band followed up with "Trading My Life" in 2003, further refining their sound. After a series of tours and gaining a modest following, Liars Academy disbanded in 2004. However, they briefly reunited for a few shows in subsequent years. Their influence can be seen in the works of other bands within the post-hardcore and emo scenes that emerged during the early 2000s.
