Leatherwolf is an American heavy metal band that formed in the early 1980s in Huntington Beach, California. Known for their distinctive "triple axe attack" – a pioneering use of three guitarists in their lineup – Leatherwolf emerged during a time when the heavy metal genre was experiencing significant popularity. The band released their self-titled debut album, also known as "Endangered Species," in 1984. They gained further recognition with their second self-titled album, often referred to as "Leatherwolf II," in 1987, which showcased their maturing sound and featured more polished production.
