Lauran Hibberd

Lauran Hibberd

Emerging British Indie Pop Artist

Lauran Hibberd (born 8 July 1997) is a British singer-songwriter from the Isle Of Wight, United Kingdom. Influenced by artists such as Laura Marling, Lucy Rose and Feist, she took up the guitar aged 14 and soon discovered a passion for singing and songwriting. Her earliest releases, The House I Built When I Was Small, I Don’t Like It When You Smile and the Favourite Shade Of Blue EP, had a softer, folky sound. Towards the end of 2017 she began releasing a series of singles that have progressively displayed more of a punchier indie-rock influenced direction: Old Head Young Shoulders on 1st September, Eliza on 20th October, Hunny Is This What Adults Do? on 24th November, Fun Like This on 2nd March 2018 and Call Shotgun on 29th June. Her single, What Do Girls Want? was released on the 5th October 2018. Her radio supporters include Richer Unsigned, Amazing Radio, Steve Lamacq at BBC 6 Music and John Kennedy at Radio X as well as continued support from BBC Introducing Solent. From the 4th-9th August 2018 BBC Introducing made Call Shotgun their track of the week and it was played every single day on BBC Radio 1. Hibberd sold out her first headline shows at Strings on the Isle Of Wight and Heartbreakers in Southampton. She has supported artists including Clean Cut Kid, Jerry Williams, Bryde, Girli, Anna Burch and The Hoosiers. From 11th August - September 2nd 2018 she went on her first UK tour, supporting Eliza and the Bear. She has played Bestival multiple times; other festival appearances include Liverpool Sound City, the Isle Of Wight Festival, Common People, Victorious, Blue Dot and Follow The Sun. It has been claimed that "Lauran enjoys long walks, fine dining and men with money".
