King Midas Sound is a musical project led by Kevin Martin, who is also known for his work under the alias The Bug. The group's sound is an eclectic mix of dub, ambient, and electronic music, often featuring heavy bass and atmospheric soundscapes. King Midas Sound was formed in 2007, and its lineup has included poet and artist Roger Robinson and vocalist Kiki Hitomi. Their debut album, "Waiting for You," was released in 2009 to critical acclaim. They have since collaborated with other artists and released additional works that continue to explore the intersection of experimental music, dub, and spoken word. Their collaborative approach to music has resulted in projects like "Edition 1," which was a partnership with Austrian ambient musician Fennesz. King Midas Sound's work is characterized by its haunting moodiness and innovation in sound design.
