J.T. Brown

J.T. Brown

J.T. Brown was an American blues saxophonist, known for his earthy, honking style that was influential in the development of rhythm and blues and rock and roll. Born in Mississippi in 1918, he moved to Chicago in the 1940s, where he became a part of the vibrant blues scene. Throughout his career, Brown played with a number of blues legends including Elmore James and Howlin' Wolf. He was also a bandleader in his own right and recorded several sessions as the front man.
