John's Children

John's Children

1960s British Proto-Punk Band

John's Children was a 1960s rock band known for their mod-style appearance and controversial performances. Formed in 1966, the group was briefly managed by Simon Napier-Bell, who later managed Wham! and Marc Bolan, who would go on to fame with T. Rex. Bolan was actually a member of John's Children for a short period and contributed to some of their music, including writing their best-known single "Desdemona," which was banned by the BBC due to its controversial lyrics.
