Johann Baptist Georg Neruda

Johann Baptist Georg Neruda

Baroque-era Czech Composer and Violinist

Johann Baptist Georg Neruda was an 18th-century classical composer of the Baroque period, who is believed to have been born in Bohemia around 1707 and died in 1780. He was a violinist and a composer who worked for the Dresden court, which was one of the most significant music centers in Europe at the time. Neruda composed a variety of works including church music, symphonies, chamber music, and concertos. One of his most famous pieces is the Concerto in E-flat major for trumpet and strings, which remains popular among trumpet repertoire and is frequently performed by trumpeters today. This concerto has been featured on various albums of Baroque music and trumpet concertos. While Neruda may not have produced albums himself, as the concept of albums did not exist during his lifetime, his compositions have been included in numerous classical music collections and recordings by various artists over the years.
