J. Brahms

J. Brahms

German Romantic Composer

Johannes Brahms was a German composer and pianist of the Romantic period, born on May 7, 1833, in Hamburg, and died on April 3, 1897, in Vienna. He is often grouped with Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven as one of the "Three Bs" for his significant contribution to classical music. Brahms was a master of symphonic and sonata style who wrote for piano, chamber ensembles, symphony orchestra, and for voice and chorus. He was a perfectionist and often destroyed works that did not meet his high standards.
