Influential American Alternative Rock Band

Hüsker Dü was an influential American punk rock band formed in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in 1979. The band consisted of guitarist/vocalist Bob Mould, bassist/vocalist Greg Norton, and drummer/vocalist Grant Hart. They started out playing a blistering form of hardcore punk but later added melodic elements to their sound, becoming one of the pioneering groups of alternative rock. Hüsker Dü released several critically acclaimed albums during the 1980s, including "Zen Arcade" (1984), "New Day Rising" (1985), and "Flip Your Wig" (1985), which showcased their evolving style and growing songwriting sophistication.
