Giles, Giles And Fripp

Giles, Giles And Fripp

British Progressive Rock Precursors

Giles, Giles and Fripp was a British rock group that formed in August 1967. The band consisted of brothers Michael Giles on drums and vocals, Peter Giles on bass guitar and vocals, and Robert Fripp on guitar. They were an eclectic band whose music touched on pop, psychedelic rock, folk, and classical influences. Their only studio album, "The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles and Fripp," was released in 1968 to little commercial success at the time. Despite its initial lack of impact, the album has since been recognized for its adventurous approach to rock music and its complex musicianship.
