Gaetano Brunetti (1744–1798) was an Italian composer who spent much of his career in Spain, serving as a court musician to Charles III and Charles IV. He was a prolific composer, particularly noted for his chamber music, which includes over 300 works such as string quartets, symphonies, and sonatas. Brunetti's music is characteristic of the Classical style, and he was one of the important composers in Spain during the late 18th century. His compositions were well-regarded by his contemporaries for their melodic inventiveness and formal clarity. Although not as widely known today as some of his contemporaries like Haydn or Mozart, Brunetti's work has been subject to a revival of interest, with modern recordings and performances bringing his music back into the classical repertoire.
