Francis Lai was a renowned French composer known for his prolific output of film scores that graced many of the 20th century's most memorable movies. Born on April 26, 1932, in Nice, Lai began his career as an accordionist before transitioning into film music. His breakthrough came with the score for Claude Lelouch's film "Un Homme Et Une Femme" (1966), which included the iconic title track that became a widely recognized piece of music around the world. The soundtrack's success earned him considerable acclaim and set the stage for a long and fruitful collaboration with Lelouch.
