David Freiberg

Veteran Rock Musician and Jefferson Starship Member

David Freiberg is an American musician and singer, best known for his work with the psychedelic rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service and the rock group Jefferson Starship. Born on August 24, 1938, Freiberg played a significant role in the San Francisco music scene during the 1960s and 1970s. He was a co-founder of Quicksilver Messenger Service, contributing as a bassist and vocalist. After his time with Quicksilver Messenger Service, Freiberg joined Jefferson Airplane members Paul Kantner and Grace Slick in their side project, which led to the formation of Jefferson Starship. Throughout his career, he has been involved in various musical projects and has contributed to numerous albums both as a performer and sometimes as a producer. His versatility as a musician is evident in his ability to play multiple instruments and his involvement in different genres of music over the years.
