Czech Philharmonic Orchestra

The Česká Filharmonie, known in English as the Czech Philharmonic, is a world-renowned symphony orchestra based in Prague. The orchestra was founded in 1896 and has since become one of the leading orchestras in Europe, known for its rich, warm sound and interpretive depth. Over the years, the Czech Philharmonic has been led by a number of distinguished conductors, including its first chief conductor Antonín Dvořák, who is also one of the most celebrated Czech composers. The orchestra has a strong association with Dvořák's music, as well as with other Czech composers such as Bedřich Smetana and Leoš Janáček.
