Celia Linde

Celia Linde

Swedish Classical Guitarist and Composer

Swedish classical guitarist and composer, born in Gothenburg (of Turkish parents), raised in Kolmården and now living in Malmö. She is educated at Malmö Academy of Music under the direction of Per-Olof Johnson (degree 1982) and at the Soloist Class at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen (degree 1984). She then continued in South American guitar music at the Manhattan School of Music for Brazilian guitarist Carlos Barbosa-Lima. As early as 1982, she was noticed by guitar legend Andrés Segovia for her technique and her delicate interpretations of classical guitar music. Celia has performed as a soloist in concert halls such as Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, 92 Street Y, and Bacon Theater in New York. She has also made radio appearances for the BBC in London and WNYC in New York. Her repertoire includes the classical standard repertoire as well as South American music and contemporary art music. Within the Scandinavian repertoire, she has premiered Sven-David Sandström's "Six Pieces for Guitar and Orchestra", together with the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra 2004.
