Carnivore

Carnivore was an American crossover thrash band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 1982 by Peter Steele, later the frontman of the gothic metal band Type O Negative. Carnivore is known for their aggressive style of thrash metal that blends elements of hardcore punk with heavy metal and often features darkly humorous and macabre lyrics with dystopian themes. The band released two influential albums: their self-titled debut "Carnivore" in 1985 and "Retaliation" in 1987. Despite never achieving mainstream success, Carnivore developed a cult following and is often cited as an influence by a variety of subsequent heavy metal bands. After disbanding in 1987, Peter Steele formed Type O Negative, which achieved significant success throughout the 1990s and early 2000s until his death in 2010.
