Barnyard Ballers

Barnyard Ballers

Psychobilly Punk Rockers

American Psychobilly band active from 1992-2015. Formed in San Diego by Rob Kwait and Richard Stahlhut ("Spike"). Barnyard Ballers were one of America's oldest psychobilly acts. They can be found on many psychobilly compilations including two CDs compiled by the singer entitled "Hotter than Hell" ("Psychoholic Invasion - the 90's virus" on vinyl) and "Kicked out of Purgatory". These two releases were the first American produced psychobilly compilations. Barnyard Ballers were known for their insane, over the top live shows including spanking contests and a huge "All Girl Wrecking Pit". They played in Europe and Brazil and recorded a song with the Danish band Godless Wicked Creeps. The Ballers also were main support for Demented are Go!'s first ever American tour. Rob Kwait produced and wrote most of the music for three full length albums and also one other under the Ballers name called "When Pigs Fly" (which is only in download form). This last release included the bands regular drummer Rick Stojak as well as Johny Bowler and Kim Nekroman but was disowned by Spike (the album is actually more "industrial" than "psycho") Rob was fired in 2005 for bailing a European tour 2 weeks before it started. The band completed the tour without Rob who was replaced by Matt Miller (Matt later went on to play with Mad Sin) Spike and Ricky continued the live shows (with guest bass players and guitarists) until the last show in long beach in 2015. That version of the band is considered a cover band by Rob Kwait as he wrote all the music and 85% of the lyrics. Bill Blitz wrote the 2nd most lyrics. Spike has played in several other bands (Knock Em' Stiff and Pickled Punks) and is currently singing for the bands Sickscrew and Flying Crazy in Austin, Texas.
