French Jazz Saxophonist

Barney Wilen was a renowned French jazz saxophonist known for his sophisticated playing and contributions to both European and American jazz scenes. Born on March 4, 1937, in Nice, France, Wilen's career took off in the 1950s when he started performing with notable jazz figures such as Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and Art Blakey. His talent was recognized early on; he played on the soundtrack for Roger Vadim's film "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" in 1959, which featured other jazz greats.
