Antonin Reichenauer

Antonin Reichenauer

Baroque Czech Composer and Violinist

Antonín Reichenauer was a Czech composer of the Baroque era, active in the early 18th century. While not as widely known as some of his contemporaries, Reichenauer held a significant position in the musical life of Prague. He was associated with the court of Count Morzin, a notable patron of the arts who also employed the famous composer Antonio Vivaldi. Reichenauer's compositional output includes a variety of instrumental music, such as concertos and chamber works, which exhibit the influence of the Italian Baroque style. His music has been rediscovered and recorded in recent years, contributing to a growing appreciation of his work within the context of Baroque music from Central Europe.
