Alfredo Bernardini

Alfredo Bernardini

Italian Baroque Oboist and Conductor

Alfredo Bernardini is an Italian oboist and conductor, renowned for his expertise in Baroque music. Born in Rome in 1961, he studied at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan and later at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where he specialized in Baroque oboe under the guidance of Bruce Haynes and Ku Ebbinge. Bernardini is a co-founder of the ensemble Zefiro, which was established in 1989 and has gained international acclaim for its performances of 17th- and 18th-century music, particularly for its interpretations of wind music, or "Harmoniemusik." His career has been marked by collaborations with numerous early music ensembles and orchestras, as well as a dedication to teaching; he has taught at various prestigious institutions such as the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. Bernardini's discography includes a wide range of recordings that reflect his deep engagement with historical performance practice.
