Alberto Erede was an Italian conductor renowned for his interpretations of operatic works. Born on November 8, 1909, in Genoa, Italy, he pursued a career in music that led him to become one of the notable conductors of his time, especially in the opera genre. Erede's career was marked by his associations with various opera houses and orchestras across Europe and America. He served as the musical director at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and later worked with the New York Metropolitan Opera. Erede was also known for his collaborations with prominent opera singers of his era. His recordings of operas such as "Madama Butterfly," "Cavalleria Rusticana," and "Pagliacci" have been appreciated for their musical sensitivity and understanding of the operatic form. He passed away on April 12, 2001, leaving behind a legacy as a respected conductor in the world of classical music.
