Alan Caddy

Alan Caddy

British Guitarist and Arranger

Alan Caddy was an English guitarist, arranger, and record producer, best known for his work in the 1960s. He was a member of the Tornados, the instrumental group that scored a hit with "Telstar" in 1962, which became the first record by a British group to hit No.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Caddy was also involved with The Five Dimensions, another instrumental group. After his time with the Tornados, he became a prolific session musician and arranger. In the 1970s, Alan Caddy was involved in producing budget cover version albums of contemporary hits, often released on the Avenue and Hallmark labels. These albums were designed to offer cheaper versions of popular songs to the public and were recorded quickly with session musicians. His work contributed to making music more accessible during a time when buying original albums was more expensive.
