He released the albums "First Album" (1970), "Rio Grande Mud" (1972), "Tres Hombres" (1973), "Fandango" (1975), "Tejas" (1976), "Degüello" (1979), "El Loco" (1981), "Eliminator" (1983), "Afterburner" (1985) and "Recycler" (1990). Since their first album in 1971, ZZ Top has been one of the icons of rock music. Not only because of their exaggerated beards, which became their trademark, but mainly because of their ur-Texan humor and their combination of powerful blues riffs and clever use of synthesizers. Today, more than 30 years and millions of albums sold later, ZZ Top are one of the few classic rock bands to have survived the decades with their original line-up: Billy Gibbons (vocals), Dusty Hill (bass) and Frank Beard (drums) continuing their rock careers. ZZ Top - The Studio Albums 1970-1990 is a 10-CD box set that really packs a punch, specifically all ten classic albums from their years of release on Warner Bros. The lavish box set comes in a clamshell-shaped hard case, with each album in a cardboard sleeve that matches the cover of the respective original vinyl. Even Tre Hombres and Tejas come in a mini sleeve that is a replica of the original. What's also spectacular is that for the first time the original audio tapes of three albums, namely First Album, Rio Grande Mud and Tejas, are available on CD. Also included are the original masters of Tres Hombres and Fandango! The mixes on CD released in the mid-eighties caused much controversy about the quality of the mixes at the time - now the original audio versions are available once and for all in this amazing box set!
