"Cool It Down" je název pátého alba skupiny. Jistě vzpomínka na The Velvet Underground a jejich stejnojmennou píseň, ale možná také apel na klimatickou politiku.

Téma ničení životního prostředí hraje hlavní roli v otvíráku alba "Spitting Off The Edge Of The World". Karen O. k tomu říká: "Vidím, jak mladé generace zírají na tuto hrozbu a stojí na okraji propasti, čelí tomu, co přichází, s hněvem a vzdorem. Je to výzva k probuzení a dává naději." Píseň je zároveň prvním singlem z alba "Cool It Down" a skutečnou synth-popovou hymnou.

Na albu, které Yeah Yeah Yeahs opět nahráli se svým dlouholetým producentem Davem Sitekem z TV On The Radio, najdete celkem osm nových písní. Sitek také pochází z živé newyorské undergroundové rockové scény, z níž na počátku tisíciletí vzešly zajímavé kapely jako The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem a Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Newyorské trio se stále vyznačuje stejnou svobodou a kreativitou jako před dvaceti lety, jak působivě dokazuje skladba "Cool It Down".
