Exactly 15 years ago, Yann Tiersen was celebrated for his soundtrack to the feature film "The Wonderful World of Amélie". Yann Tiersen clearly showed how to develop maximum emotional impact with limited musical resources. And although the last three albums "Infinity" (2014), "Skyline" (2011) and "Dust Lane" (2010) use an expanded musical language that includes the band, Yann Tiersen's depth and musical courage can be felt in this context as well. "EUSA" now returns to contemporary minimalism. EUSA was originally published as a music book for piano. When Yann Tiersen presented the pieces on tour, he got the urge to record them on an album. In addition to the piano recording, which was made at Abbey Road studios in London, Tiersen made field recordings for Ouessant. They convey impressions of different places on the island, capturing the sounds of the sea, wind, animal sounds and more.
