On 4 April 2014, the world's most beloved musicians gathered at the Royal Albert Hall to pay tribute to one of the most celebrated musicians of all time: Jon Lord, one of the most important and influential organists of our time. And it's all for the good cause of The Sunflower Jam charity. That evening in 2014 was an absolutely historic rock moment: a full orchestra, a conductor - Paul Mann - crazy enough to arrange a repertoire spanning 50 years of music just brilliantly, plus many old friends who made for an unforgettable evening. The Royal Albert Hall was sold out to the last seat. Jon's music shone for four hours. Excitement, banter, laughter and lots of music came together like magic. The result is a show you can finally watch with your own eyes and ears! All the great musicians who performed at the "Celebrating Jon Lord"-Sunflower Jam festival left a clear mark. But one thing remains unforgettable: the 45-minute finale by Deep Purple. But the unforgettable moments also come from the Purple Mk III songs, celebrated onstage by Paice and his old friend Glenn Hughes, along with Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, Yes' Rick Wakeman, Steve Balsam (who sang in Jon Lord's last band and on his last studio album "Concerto"), members of The Temperance Movement, former members of Whitesnake, Marsden and Moody, and "Modfather" Paul Weller.... Everyone who attended the show went home after it was over with a look on their face that clearly said, "Someday I'll be able to say I was there..." And now, finally, everyone can see why. All royalties will be donated to The Sunflower Jam charity and The Jon Lord Fellowship for cancer research and support for people affected by cancer.
