Brian Burton, better known as Danger Mouse, releases the sampler "30th Century Records Compilation Volume I". The New York native has created a platform for select newcomers and good old friends of the thirty-eight year old musician on the compilation he put together himself. Between the garage rock band The Arcs, freshly formed in 2015 and fronted by Black Keys mastermind Dan Auerbach, and the multifaceted Autolux, the record features many newcomers such as Nine Pound Shadow and Waterstrider. The compilation combines musical elements from a variety of genres, yet stays true to its core tone. Two of the tracks have already been released: "Lose Your Illusion" was a collaboration between Danger Mouse and multi-instrumentalist Sam Cohen. The other, much less electronic track "Melody" comes from California indie rock band Nine Pound Shadow. The musician and producer broke through in 2004 with the mash-up "The Grey Album", on which he mixed Jay-Z's "The Black Album" with the Beatles' "The White Album".
