Astral Weeks is an album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison , released on Warner Bros. Records in November 1968. It is considered one of the best albums of all time. Recorded in a single session, Astral Weeks is an impressionistic, jazz and folk-influenced album that Morrison described as "a personal testimony, a spiritual autobiography". The album was not a commercial success upon its release, but has since been hailed by critics as one of the best albums of all time. In 2003, it was ranked 16th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
