Paul McCartney to release new album McCartney III on 18 December This year marks 50 years since British singer, songwriter and producer Paul McCartney released his first solo album. The power, popularity and energy of the music that the legendary artist has acquired in that time has continued to grow over the years of his career. Known for his fantastic musicianship, Paul McCartney is now releasing an unplanned album that he wrote, produced and recorded entirely. "It was about making music for myself rather than making music that had to do the job. So I just did stuff that I liked. I had no idea it would end up as an album," says the music great, inviting fans to listen to McCartney III, which will be released on December 18, the follow-up to 1970's McCartney and its 1980 follow-up McCartney II. However, Paul McCartney did not plan to release this album in 2020, but in isolation - "Rockdown" came with the time and inclination to create, and so McCartney III becomes an eclectic collection of spontaneous songs. An album that marks the start of a new decade, in the tradition of McCartney 70s and McCartney II 80s, the album was recorded in Sussex earlier this year and is built mostly from live recordings of vocals, to which he then added additional instruments. The process for the album began when Paul revisited an unreleased track from the early 90s, When Winter Comes (co-produced by George Martin). Paul created a new passage for the song, which gave birth to the album opener, Long Tailed Winter Bird - while When Winter Comes, featuring a new Winter Bird intro, became the album's grand finale. I had to work on some film music, and that turned into the opening track. When it was done, I thought, what am I going to do next? I had some things that I had worked on over the years, but sometimes time ran out and they were left unfinished, so I started thinking about what I had. I started recording every day with the instrument I wrote the song on, and then gradually layered it all out, it was a lot of fun. It was about making music for myself rather than making music that had to do the job. So I just did stuff that I liked. I had no idea it would end up as an album," says Paul McCartney, inviting fans to listen to his new album.Paul McCartney - McCartney III
