October Rust is the sixth studio album by gothic metal band Type O Negative , released on October 8, 1996. The album marked a departure from the band's earlier black metal sound and contained more elements of doom metal and psychedelic rock. Kytarista Kenny Hickey stále přináší spoustu sabbathovských riffů, které otřásají hlavou, a Steeleova nenapodobitelná basa je stále hnací silou, ale jsou v mixu více vyvážené Silverovou hrou.
