The idea to christen the station with Peterson's name probably came to fans while listening to the album "Night Train". Recorded in 1962 under the direction of Norman Granz with Ray Brown (bass) and Ed Thigpen (drums), the album is considered one of Oscar Peterson's absolute masterpieces and is one of the best-selling Verve albums of all time. Universal Music has long called it Back To Black, and famous pop and rock albums have been remastered on vinyl under this banner.
