The Singers Unlimited

The Singers Unlimited

Vocal Jazz Ensemble

The Singers Unlimited were an American vocal jazz group formed in 1967 by Gene Puerling. The group's origins trace back to Puerling's earlier ensemble, The Hi-Lo's, which disbanded in the mid-1960s. The Singers Unlimited brought together the talents of Puerling, Don Shelton, Len Dresslar, and Bonnie Herman. They are renowned for their complex vocal harmonies and studio techniques, including multitracking—a process that allowed them to layer their voices multiple times to create a rich choral effect.
